Hi Tammy, Thanks for inviting me on Saturday... Congratulations on reading!! You are a natural!!! You pull your audience together in the room, so they hear as a community to the voice at the mic! I took a few notes: Really liked your poem. Where Do They Go? Great images…**The cigarette smoke. **Snippets of film in our heads. In We Were Gods - very strong image, ** like endless ropes - **no 3 am fears - **no carpools I Forget Who I Am -** it took my child…really liked that, so universal, and intimate at the same time!! - ** pecked at me like crows - **the bear trap - **clamped the jaws down. Light Em Up Arizona…loved the whole thing…how your poem worked so well with burn down the… **burn down all the books, etc.…and **take back whatever you want. **howl at the moon in bare feet…**get a new smoking tattoo. I Couldn’t Write this Poem Because - **my cat is mean…and the ending was great!! “You aren’t here!!!” One of my very favorites was “My Daughter” - because you show me a way to SEE that I haven’t seen before, and I love that! **she has floors of her own - WOW **she has walls of her own **a ceiling of her own **a kitchen of her own - to cook in or not - I really liked that image!! It’s hers to fill!!! Yeah!! A bathroom of her own - a front porch of her own - to talk to whoever she wants to whenever she wants!! Dragonfly Wings I so liked "uneasily contented” ** And Finding Your Way - about your son - when you said water is not brokenhearted!! Bravo 🌹N

There could be no Better study material for a writer To learn from than your books. Your writing radiates a power unique to you alone Altar Boy, For My Twenty-One-Year-Old Daughter, The Report, and Chthonic are just a few of Your pieces that blew me away. Your poetry doesn't just sooth, It enrages and ennobles, It lights candles then blows them out, It Breaks the heart, yet gives the reader Courage to go on, even for one more day. In my opinion, Your writing is eons superior To Sylvia Plath, who I feel Was too self-absorbed, and without Elegance....and gets more credit Than deserved. Your book "chasing clouds" within the first ten pages, Smashes the "Bell Jar" to pieces. You're not a writer, You're a sage.
